15 months

We took the kids in a couple of weeks ago for their 15 month check up.  Norah woke up that day with a 102 fever so it was a good day to visit the pediatrician.  He tested her for strep which was thankfully negative.  It turned out to be an upper respiratory infection which she passed on to Rowan and Doug :(

Rowan:
  • was 23lbs and 2ft 8inches
  • still a picky little eater; he loves his fruit, prunes, oatmeal, cereal and breads, but will very rarely try anything new;  he is still eating stage 3 meats/veggies
  • still struggles with stranger/social/separation anxiety; this has become a huge challenge for us, but we are doing our best to keep trying and not feel defeated; we had a really good weekend having fun at the park (he got his first skinned knees and didn't even cry) and going out for breakfast...hopefully this is a turning point for him
  • not talking a lot, but our doctor wasn't too concerned yet; he does intentionally say mama, dada, and occasionally bye-bye
  • absolutely loves bath time and anything water
  • the last few weeks we have been transitioning down to one nap; he sleeps through the night 7pm- 6am
  • his favorite toys are his stackable cups and shape sorter
  • has become very attached to what we refer to as his "silky bear" and his pacifier
  • is so incredibly sweet and loves to give us hugs

nap head!

sick :(

Norah:
  • was 24lbs and 2ft 9inches...she seriously looks like a giant next to Rowan even though she is only an inch taller
  • getting to be a bit pickier with her food, but still doing a good job of eating all table food; really likes all fruits, cheese, and meat but not so much with the breads or veggies right now
  • same as Rowan on the talking and sleeping
  • her favorite toys are playing with the fish tank in Rowan's crib, the couch, books, mega blocks, and all the bath toys...just so long as she's not in the bath :)
  • has become very attached to our old burp cloths, they are the perfect little blankies for her and she carries them all over the house
  • has become quite the drama queen and will have a serious meltdown anytime we wipe her face, comb her hair, or change her diaper
  • when she isn't melting down, she is a silly little girl who loves to be the center of attention; she is quite the daddy's girl

  1. So fun!!! And sounds like they are doing great in the words department...when our doctor asked me Eleanor's words at her last appointment - I was like- she should be talking already!!! Her big word is wow...and that's it. We've got lots of pointing & grunting going on over here. :)

Glad you all are doing well!
